Annual Parties for Service to Seniors
The Holiday Party was held at Alden Estates on Thursday, December 3, 2009 at 1pm. Juniors attended to entertain the residents with bingo, festive desserts, and enjoy the beautiful voices of the Barrington High School Madrigals.
The Valentine's Party was held on February 12, 2010.
The Spring Fling Party will be held on Monday, May 3, 2010 at Barrington Park District.
Please assist the Service to Seniors Committee and help prepare 100 mini loaves (see instructions below) to be given to the seniors at Spring Fling! Club members are asked to bake the mini loaves in advance and dropped off at one of the two locations below.
Drop off sites for mini loaves:
Laura Powroznyk
21157 North Crestview Drive
Barrington (off 59 near 14)
Janet Magee
26285 W Roberts Ln
N Barrington (off 59 north of Kelsey)

Purchase boxed muffin/loaf mix from the grocery store - one box of mix makes three mini-loaves. Bake mini-loaves in disposable foil pans. After baking, remove loaves from the pans and allow them to cool. Once the loaves are cool, wrap each one in saran wrap first and then in foil. That's it! We'll decorate them to match our party theme.

In the fall, this committee plans three (3) events for the year — one for the fall, one for the winter and one for the spring. BJWC members attend and sponsor the events for Barrington area senior organizations. Send an email to the committee chair to get involved.2009/10 Committee Chair is:
