The Safety Town, is a two-week educational summer program for children sponsored by BJWC. Safety Town participants learn important safety lessons through hands-on activities and demonstrations. The facility at Orchard Church in Barrington was built in 1997 through community support and is an integral part of the program. This miniature layout of a town was built to give children hands-on experience in using safety skills. Safety topics covered include pedestrian, motorist, fire, bicycle, water, poison, electrical, animal and playground safety as well as stranger danger.
