About BJWC

Barrington Junior Women’s Club (BJWC) is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization comprised of women from the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago. Formed over eighty years ago, BJWC’s mission is to focus on philanthropy and community service in the local area, focusing on women, children, and seniors.

BJWC General Meetings are held the first Tuesday of the month, starting in September. We do not meet in January and our last meeting of the year is in June. We take a break from meeting during July and August each year. Membership is open to women of all ages.

BJWC is a member-based organization and is open to women of all ages over 18. Our current membership includes former and current Barrington area residents, as well as women in the neighboring communities who are interested in becoming involved in philanthropic and community service activities. BJWC has a New Member Committee so each new member can be learn about the the club, our various committees and how how to get involved within our organization based on skill and interests.

All BJWC members are required to become a part of one of the Barrington Junior Women’s Club’s Committees, support our two fundraising events and donate two hours annually to a community service project such as Meals on Wheels, grade school tutoring, or assisting in some aspect of Giving Day.

Every year in September and October there is a membership enrollment for individuals to get acquainted with BJWC. During the general meeting in October, the evening’s program is focused on educating new members about the various committees that work together to achieve our mission.
