About the show

The fifth annual show brought a spring luncheon to The Concorde in Kildeer. Cynthia Rowley, then designing in New York, sent pieces home for the runway, and the club presented a scholarship to an outstanding student designer chosen by a five member panel of fashion experts.

The silent auction offered hotel weekends, a catered party at Fritzl's Country Inn and a raffle for two round trip American Airlines tickets to London.

Who led it

Fashion show chairs are not yet confirmed. Robin Hamlin took the reservations, but the flyer does not name her as a chair.

If you have a program book or know who ran this one, the club would like it for the archive.

On the runway

  • Neiman Marcus
  • Bloomingdale's and Saks pieces from Barrington native Cynthia Rowley
  • Doncaster
  • Carlisle
  • Ray Vogue
  • Student designers from Harper College and College of DuPage
Where this sits in the run. This was billed as the fifth annual, which places the first one around 1988. The 1993 show was the sixth and 1994 the seventh, and all three were March dates at The Concorde.
