Learning safety, hands-on
Safety Town is a weeklong educational summer program for children, sponsored by BJWC. Participants learn vital safety lessons through activities and demonstrations — a miniature town gives children hands-on experience riding trikes and acting as pedestrians, while speakers, songs, and art projects reinforce the lessons.
The permanent Safety Town site, built in 1997 through community support, includes a field trip to the Barrington Public Safety Building and a local park.
Summer 2026
Sessions & registration
Four one-week sessions, 9:00 AM–1:00 PM (Thursdays end at 12 PM). For children entering kindergarten or first grade who haven't attended before. Session dates for Summer 2026 are being finalized — check back soon.
