SERVICE

Each year, BJWC members volunteer countless hours to community initiatives that we both spearhead and support. These include partnering with BACOA to deliver meals bi-monthly to home-bound seniors;  collecting, sorting, cleaning, purchasing, and packaging donations and new gifts for 400+ families in District 220 as part of the greater Giving Day effort, coordinating crafts for the Village of Barrington’s popular Scarecrow Festival, tutoring Sunny Hill Elementary students each week, pack hundreds of meals for those living in developing countries at Feed My Starving Children, and much more.

Barrington Junior Women’s Club donates countless hours to our community through a variety of initiatives supporting those of all ages and levels of need.  These include tutoring at Sunny Hill Elementary, delivering Meals on Wheels to those in need, sorting and providing all the toys for Barrington Giving Day, participating in a Community Meal, planning activities for Scarecrow Fest, volunteering at Feed My Starving Children, offering the ever-popular educational program Safety Town, and recognizing “unsung heroes” in our town with our Character Counts ceremony each Spring, and planning lunchtime celebrations for senior citizens around several holidays.
