Community Service

Community Service

Giving back directly to Barrington through hands-on volunteer work all year long.

Hands-on giving

Every member serves

BJWC members give back directly to the community through active volunteer work. Every member commits to at least two hours of community service each year — because we believe that through direct engagement, we gain a deeper understanding of the impact we have and how other groups are working to help too.

Each year we take on hands-on service projects with local organizations — last year, members volunteered with Smart Farm of Barrington.

Meals on Wheels

One of our longest-running commitments. BJWC proudly supports the Meals on Wheels program run by the Barrington Area Council on Aging (BACOA), which provides a hot, nutritious meal to older adults who are unable to prepare meals for themselves — whether because of health or income.

BJWC provides volunteer drivers who deliver meals on the 2nd Tuesday and the last day of each month, year-round.
