About the show
The start of the annual run. The club’s first fashion show was Spring Alive in ’85, three years earlier, and 1988 is where the yearly series begins, which is why the 1992 invitation calls that year the fifth annual. Brunch and a runway at Motor Werks of Barrington, with nineteen Barrington stores dressing members and their families, among them Benetton, Talbots, Peter Daniels and Studio Boutique. Sue Maher and Leslie Potter commentated, Pasta Impromptu and the Back Door Caterers did the brunch, and the silent auction drew donors including Kurt-Saphir pianos and The Abbey in Lake Geneva. Members bartended and drew the posters themselves, and a service auction raised $1,800. The printed program says noon; the November newsletter had said 12:30, so noon was the final time.
