About the show
The fifteenth consecutive fashion show, and the one that turned the runway back on the club itself. Legendary women of BJWC were recognised from the stage and past presidents were asked to stand.
The Barrington Children’s Chamber Choir sang at midday under founder Peggy Crawford. Bob Roig ran the auction. Long & Company Jewelers gave the Impact Raffle prize, a pair of vintage inspired 18k white gold diamond earrings, and every box in the room held a consolation pair. Country Magazine sponsored the handbag raffle, a fuchsia Saint Laurent clutch drawn on stage by publisher John Conatser.
The reverse auction that year had a single target: a universally accessible splash pad, built with the Barrington Park District to mark the club’s eightieth anniversary.
It seemed appropriate to celebrate the talented and caring women that have been a part of this organization while also bringing an old Hollywood feel to our biggest fundraising event of the year.
